Juniper first and loudest — piney, dry, faintly peppery — then a long citrus peel bite that keeps going after the juniper fades. Classic London Dry build: no sweetness to hide behind, a little earthy root underneath, clean finish. Beefeater tastes of the template rather than a twist on it.

Tonic — Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water, 1:2 — no more, the 40% needs room

Garnish — Wide strip of lemon peel, twisted over the glass
