Juniper leads, dry and resinous, with yarrow bringing a green herbal bitterness behind it. Violet root gives a dusty floral note in the middle, then gentian root closes it out earthy and firmly bitter. At 45.5% it runs warm and dry, with a long root-driven finish.

Negroni
Bitter first, then sweet: Campari's rind-and-root edge held up by the vermouth's dark, herbal sugar. The gin has to push through both, so juniper and a firm backbone read clearly where softer florals get buried. Stirred over ice, it drinks cold and slow, the orange peel lifting the bitterness.
The gentian root bitterness in this South Tyrolean gin runs straight into the vermouth and bitter liqueur, and 45.5% keeps it upright through the ice.
Gin & Tonic
Long, dry and bitter-edged, the tonic's quinine pulling against the gin's botanicals while the lime wedge sharpens both. Refreshing rather than contemplative. The gin has to hold its shape against all that dilution: juniper and citrus carry through, where delicate florals tend to vanish.
Gentian root and quinine are the same kind of bitterness, so the tonic extends this gin's earthy root finish instead of fighting it, and 45.5% keeps the juniper resin intact through the ice.
Gin Basil Smash
Bruised basil turns this green and gives it a peppery, herbal lift; underneath sits a lemon sour, tart with just enough sugar to round it off. The basil is loud, so the gin needs juniper and spine to be heard at all — softer floral styles tend to vanish into the leaf.
Yarrow's green herbal bitterness meets bruised basil on its own terms, and the dusty violet root adds a floral undertone the leaf never covers.
